Treatment for Scoliosis
What is scoliosis?
Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. Approximately three in one hundred people have some form of scoliosis. For some people the curve may progress as they get older. In these circumstances a brace may be recommended.
A brace for scoliosis is meant to hold the spine in place so the curve doesn’t get any worse. Some braces are made to be worn only at night and others are designed to be worn both day and night.
Symptoms of scoliosis:
- Leaning to one side when standing
- One shoulder blade that stands out more than the other
- One hip higher than the other
- Uneven shoulders
- Uneven waist
When is a soft brace a suitable option for scoliosis?
A soft brace such as our Scoliosis Suit can be helpful where there is mild structural scoliosis or mild to moderate postural scoliois.
