Wobble Boards are wooden boards used to facilitate balance, coordination, core stability and proprioception.

Proprioception is the body’s ability to determine where a joint is in space in relation to another joint or body part (for example, the position of the ankle in relation to the floor or knee).

Proprioceptors become damaged or function poorly after injury or a period of disuse. When standing on a wobble board the ankles, knees and hips and trunk have to constantly readjust their position to mainatain balance.

This greatly assists the development of core stability and strengthens the postural muscles.
